Draft for owner review — August 19, 2026

Privacy Policy — Draft

What the app stores

The app stores the records you create—listing text and links, object details, cost assumptions, questions, provenance, notes, and imported files—locally on your device. Gavelogue does not operate an account system, analytics service, advertising service, or cloud database in the launch edition.

Photos, files, OCR, and links

When you choose a screenshot with Apple's system photo picker, Gavelogue receives only the item you select, not general access to your photo library. When you explicitly open the camera scanner, the camera is used to capture the catalog, lot sheet, invoice, receipt, or other page you place in view. Gavelogue does not record your screen or monitor for new screenshots in the background.

Apple's on-device frameworks read a selected screenshot, camera-captured page, image, PDF, or text file so the app can suggest fields for your review. The launch edition does not upload those materials or recognized text to a Gavelogue server. A scan is suggested transcription, not identification, authentication, provenance verification, title review, or appraisal. Opening an original listing link takes you to the third party named by that URL; that site's privacy practices apply there.

Gavelogue does not request or store auction-site or marketplace credentials, reuse an authenticated session, or fetch, scrape, or monitor a listing service. A source link is stored locally as a reference. The current launch edition has no inbound Share extension; Apple's share sheet is used only when you deliberately export a generated file.

Exports and sharing

When you create a PDF, CSV, or backup, it is generated on your device. Apple's system share sheet lets you choose where it goes. Gavelogue does not receive the file or learn which destination you choose.

Optional reminders

With your permission, Gavelogue asks iOS to schedule local auction-closing reminders. Depending on your notification settings, a reminder may show an object title and lot number on the lock screen. Changing the title, lot number, or closing date of an object under consideration cancels its existing reminders; set them again after saving if you still want them. You can control or disable Gavelogue notifications in iPhone Settings.

Website information

This launch site does not contain advertising or third-party behavioral analytics. If you email us, we receive the address and information you choose to include so we can reply. We retain support correspondence only as long as reasonably needed to respond, keep ordinary business records, or comply with law.

Deletion and retention

You can delete individual records or all local records inside the app. Deleting the app removes its local container, subject to device backups and other Apple services you control. Files you previously exported remain wherever you chose to save them.

Children

Gavelogue is a general-audience collector recordkeeping tool and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect children's personal information.

Security and limits

Local storage reduces transmission risk but no device or storage system can be guaranteed absolutely secure. Use your iPhone passcode, current software, and encrypted backups, and avoid placing unnecessary government identifiers, payment-card numbers, or account credentials in a collection record.

Changes

If a future version adds accounts, synchronization, paid cloud processing, third-party analytics, or other data handling, this policy and the App Store privacy disclosure will be updated before that behavior ships.

Contact

Use the Gavelogue support page. A monitored public contact will be posted there before the app is submitted.
